What makes a website builder easy

A website builder is easy when you never face an empty page. The hard part of a DIY website was never the clicking. It is deciding what to say, in what order, and what it should look like. That is the part WeBoss does first.

You answer five questions about your business. In about a minute there is a whole site: the words written for your trade and town, photos chosen, and a booking form and quote calculator already on the page. From there, every change is a click.

Drag and drop website builders, and the easier way

A drag and drop website builder lets you pull text boxes, photos and buttons onto a page and place them wherever you like. That freedom is real, and it is why designers like those tools. It is also where most owners get stuck: a box moved on a computer screen lands somewhere odd on a phone, and an evening goes on lining things up.

If placing every piece yourself is what you enjoy, a drag and drop builder such as Wix is the better pick, and our Wix comparison says so. If you want the site finished so you can get back to work, read on.

How to change your site, step by step

  1. Change words: click any sentence on the page and type. It saves by itself.
  2. Change a photo: click it, then upload your own or pick another.
  3. Change a design: choose a section and swap it for another of the 361 hand-made designs. Your words stay where they are.
  4. Move things: drag a section up or down in the page list, or duplicate or delete it.
  5. Add something new: pick a section from the library, or describe what you need and let the AI build it.
  6. Ask in plain words: select part of the page and tell the AI what to do, such as "make this shorter".

A no code website builder, really

No code means you never see HTML, never install a plugin and never paste a snippet to make a form work. The booking form, the quote calculator, the contact form and the search set-up are all switches and boxes in plain English.

It also means nothing to maintain. There is no hosting account to renew separately, no updates to run and no security patches. You change your site, press Update, and the new version is live.

A DIY website without the lost weekend

Building your own website is worth it: you save an agency fee and you can change anything the day your prices change. What it usually costs is time. The first version is where most of that time goes, which is why having it built for you matters more than any single editing feature.

These are typical experiences, not measured figures. How long your own site takes depends on how much you want to change.

What it does not do

You cannot drag a single button to an exact spot on the page, and there is no code editor, online store or blog. Sites are one page. Those limits are the price of a builder that stays simple. If you need that level of control, a general builder suits you better.

What it costs

Building, editing and previewing are free, with no card. Going live comes with Starter at $14.99 a month, with hosting, booking, quotes and forms included.

What is the easiest website builder for beginners?

The easiest builder is one that gives you a finished first version, so you are fixing details and not starting from nothing. WeBoss builds a service business site from five answers. If you want an online store or a blog, a general builder such as Wix or Squarespace is easier for that job.

Is WeBoss a drag and drop website builder?

Partly. You can drag sections into a new order and click anything to change it. You do not drag every box around a blank canvas, because the page is already built. If you want that kind of freedom, Wix is the better pick.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Every change is a click, a box you type in or a switch. There is no HTML, no plugin to install and no snippet to paste.

Can I build a website myself for free?

You can build, edit and preview a WeBoss site for free, with no card. Putting it live for the public comes with Starter at $14.99 a month.

How long does it take to make a website?

The first version takes about a minute after you answer five questions. Most owners then spend a little while checking the words, adding their own photos and setting prices and hours.

Can I edit my site on my phone?

Yes. The editor works on a phone as well as a computer, so you can fix a price or swap a photo from a job site.

What if I do not like the design?

Swap it. Any section can be changed for another design in one click and your words stay in place. You can also pick a different style for the whole site.
