Online booking
A small business website with online booking built in
Customers pick a service and a free time on your site. You get a booking, not a missed call, and there is no separate booking app to pay for.
- Your services, prices and hours
- Only free times are shown
- Confirmation email with a calendar file
What the booking form does
WeBoss puts a booking form on your website when it builds it. A customer picks one of your services, sees the days and times you are really free, and books in under a minute. The booking lands on your dashboard and in your email straight away.
It is a website builder with a booking system already inside it. You do not install a plugin, paste an embed code or sign up for a second product. The form is part of the page, so it works the moment your site is live.
- Your services: name, length and price for each one.
- Your hours: opening hours per day, days off, and holidays you block out.
- Rules that protect your day: a gap between jobs, how much notice you need, how far ahead people can book, and a daily limit.
- One at a time or several: say whether two customers can book the same time.
- Time zones handled: times are shown and emailed in your business's own time zone.
- An address box: for trades that travel to the customer, the form asks where the job is.
How to set up online booking, step by step
Most owners finish this in about ten minutes, and you can change any of it later.
- Answer the five questions. Tell WeBoss your business name, trade and services. It builds the site and puts a booking form on it.
- Check your services. Open the Bookings screen and fix the names, lengths and prices. A haircut might be 30 minutes; a boiler service might be 90.
- Set your hours. Choose when you work each day. Block out lunch, school runs or the days you do not take jobs.
- Add your rules. For example: 30 minutes between jobs for travel, at least two hours' notice, and no more than six bookings a day.
- Send yourself a test booking. Book a slot from your phone, read the email your customer would get, then cancel it from the link in that email.
- Go live. Publish, and share the link on your Google Business Profile, your social pages and your van.
What your customer gets
A confirmation email from your business name, with a calendar file and an "add to Google Calendar" link. The email has a link where they can move or cancel the booking themselves, and you are emailed when they do. That means fewer calls just to reschedule.
They never have to create an account or download an app. They pick a time, type a name, phone and email, and they are done. That matters most on a phone, where every extra step loses people.
Who a built-in booking form suits
| Business | What customers book | Rule that helps most |
|---|---|---|
| Hair salon or barber | A cut, colour or beard trim with a set length | A gap of a few minutes between clients |
| Cleaner | A first clean or a regular slot | A daily limit, so the diary is never overfilled |
| Plumber or electrician | A visit window for a known job | Notice time, so nobody books ten minutes from now |
| Mechanic or detailer | A drop-off time for a service | One booking at a time per bay |
| Therapist or consultant | A first session or a discovery call | How far ahead people can book |
If your work is priced job by job, pair the booking form with an instant quote calculator: the customer sees a price first, then books the visit.
What it does not do (yet)
Bookings do not take a payment or a deposit, and there are no text-message reminders. If you need card deposits today, or one diary shared by a large team, a dedicated scheduling app is the better fit. Everything else, from the form to the confirmation, is included with the site.
Why booking belongs on your own site
When booking lives on a separate scheduling page, customers leave your site to book, and you pay a second monthly bill. On WeBoss the form takes your site's colours and fonts, sits on your page, and every booking is also saved as a lead with the rest of your enquiries.
| WeBoss | Website + scheduling app | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly bills | One | Two |
| Set-up | On the page when the site is built | Create an account, then embed or link it |
| Booking form matches your site | Yes, automatically | Usually an embed in its own style |
| Bookings next to your other leads | Yes | In a separate app |
| Card deposits | No | Often yes |
| Text reminders | No | On many paid plans |
What a website with a booking system costs
There are two common ways to pay for it. The first is a website plan plus a scheduling app, each with its own bill. The second is one plan where booking is part of the website. On WeBoss it is the second: building is free, and taking real bookings comes with Starter at $14.99 a month, with hosting included.
When you compare, look at the price after the first term, and whether booking sits on the cheapest plan or a higher one. Our comparison pages show where each builder puts it, with links to their own pricing.

Is online booking included or an extra?
Included. Every WeBoss site can have a booking form, and taking real bookings comes with Starter at $14.99 a month. There is no booking app to add.
How do I build a website with a booking system?
Pick a builder that includes booking, add your services and hours, set rules such as notice time and gaps between jobs, then send yourself a test booking. On WeBoss the form is already on the page when the site is built, so the job is checking your services and hours.
How much is a website with a booking system?
On WeBoss, $14.99 a month with hosting and booking included. Elsewhere it is often a website plan plus a scheduling app on a second bill, so add the two together and check the renewal prices.
What is the best online booking system for a small business?
It depends on what you need. A dedicated app such as Acuity, Calendly, Setmore or SimplyBook.me is the better pick if you need card deposits, text reminders or a diary shared by many staff. If you mainly want customers to book a time from your own website on one bill, a builder with booking built in is simpler.
Can customers cancel or reschedule?
Yes. Their confirmation email has a link to move or cancel the booking, and you are emailed when they do.
Can I take a deposit when someone books?
Not at the moment. Bookings are confirmed without payment. If deposits are essential, a dedicated scheduling app is the better choice for now.
Does it stop double bookings?
Yes. The form only offers free times, and a time is checked again the moment it is booked, so two people cannot take the same slot.
Will bookings show in my calendar?
Each booking email carries a calendar file and a Google Calendar link, and every booking is listed on your WeBoss dashboard.
