The checklist

What a restaurant website needs

Six things. Your WeBoss site has all of them from the first build.

  • Hours that are right today

The first thing a hungry person checks. Wrong hours cost you the table and the review.

  • Address, map and parking

One tap to directions, and a line about where to leave the car.

  • Your dishes and prices as text

Text loads fast, reads on a phone and can be found by Google. A photo of a menu cannot.

  • A way to book a table

Guests pick a time on your own page, with no booking marketplace in between.

  • Photos of your own food

Your real plates and your real room. Stock food never looks like dinner at your place.

  • Set up for Google

Title, description and business details filed in one click.

Design guide

Restaurant website design: hours, menu and a table

Someone looking up a restaurant is usually hungry, on a phone, and deciding in the next two minutes. They want to know three things: are you open, what do you serve, and can they get a table. A restaurant website that answers those before the first scroll wins the booking. One that opens with a slow video and hides the menu in a download loses it.

  1. Put today's hours on the first screen

Hours are the most checked fact on any restaurant site. Show them near the top, keep holiday hours current, and never let them disagree with your Google listing.

  2. Write the menu as text

A photo or a PDF of the menu is hard to read on a phone and invisible to search. Type your dishes and prices onto the page, in short sections, and update them the day they change.

  3. Make the table the main button

One clear "Book a table" button, repeated down the page. If you take walk-ins only, say so plainly and show the quiet times.

  4. Use your own photographs

Guests can tell stock food from yours. A dozen honest photos of your real plates and your real room, taken in daylight, do more than any design.

  5. Say what else you do

Private dining, catering, a brunch service, gift cards. These are often the most profitable bookings, and guests will not ask if they do not know you offer them.

What to put on a restaurant website, in order

  1. Your food or your room, the kind of cooking, and a "book a table" button
  2. Today's hours, address and phone number
  3. The menu, as text, with prices
  4. Photos of dishes and the dining room
  5. Private events and catering, with a way to ask for a price
  6. Your story in a few lines
  7. A map, parking and answers to common questions

What people type before they find you

People search for somewhere to eat by cuisine and place, and very often add "near me", "open now" or the occasion.

  • italian restaurant near me
  • brunch in [your town]
  • restaurants open now
  • private dining room for 20
  • best seafood in [your town]
  • catering for an office lunch

Examples of how people phrase it. Use the ones that fit your work in your headline and your services.

FAQ

Questions? Straight answers.

Try it free
How much does a restaurant website cost?

Building and previewing it is free. To go live, Starter is $14.99 a month, with hosting, table booking, a catering quote calculator and contact forms included.

Can guests book a table online?

Yes. Add "Dinner table" or "Brunch table" as a booking with its length, set the hours you take reservations, and guests choose a free time. You are emailed straight away.

Can I put my menu on the site?

Yes. Your dishes and prices go on the page as text, in sections you edit by clicking. Change a price in seconds when your menu changes.

Does it take online orders or delivery?

No. WeBoss has no ordering, payment or delivery system. If you use an ordering service, add its link as a button on your page.

Can I price catering and private events?

Yes. The quote calculator can price by head count with extras such as staff or dessert, or guests can describe the event and you send a quote.

Will my restaurant show up on Google?

The site is set up for Google and AI assistants in one click, with your address and opening hours. For "near me" searches your Google Business Profile and reviews matter most.

What is the best website builder for a restaurant?

One that puts hours, a text menu and table booking on a fast page. WeBoss builds that from five answers. If you need online ordering, delivery or card payments on your own site, choose a builder or an ordering service that includes them.

What should a restaurant website include?

Your hours, address, phone number and a map; the menu as text with prices; photos of your own food and room; a way to book a table; and a section for private events or catering if you offer them.

Should I list allergens on my website?

Be careful. A general line asking guests to tell staff about allergies is safer than a list you might not keep current. Follow the food labelling rules where you trade, and never promise a dish is free of an allergen unless your kitchen can guarantee it.
